Floor Sanding & Refinishing in Wake Forest & Raleigh, NC

Your hardwood floors don't need to be replaced — they may just need a craftsman's touch. At NC Floor Guys, owner Lawrence Green has spent more than 25 years bringing tired, worn hardwood floors back to life through expert floor sanding and refinishing in Wake Forest, NC and Raleigh. If your floors are scratched, dull, or dated, refinishing can make them look brand new again for a fraction of the cost of replacement.

Why Refinish Instead of Replace?

Sanding and refinishing is one of the smartest investments you can make in your home. A quality refinish removes surface scratches, pet damage, and worn finish, revealing fresh wood underneath — and it typically costs far less than installing new floors. It's also the perfect opportunity to change your floor's color with a new stain, updating the whole feel of your home without tearing anything out.

Our Dust-Controlled Sanding Process

Many homeowners dread refinishing because of the dust. Our process is different. We use modern dust-containment sanding equipment that captures dust at the source, keeping your home remarkably clean throughout the project. Lawrence sands your floors progressively through multiple grits, removing the old finish and evening out the surface, then carefully details corners and edges by hand. The result is a smooth, uniform surface ready for a flawless finish.

Stain Colors & Finish Options

Want to keep your floors' natural tone or go for something dramatic? We offer a full range of stain colors — from light, natural looks to rich walnuts and modern grays — plus durable finish options in matte, satin, semi-gloss, and gloss sheens. During your free quote, Lawrence will show you samples in your own lighting and help you choose a look that fits your home. We use high-quality, durable finishes designed to stand up to kids, pets, and everyday Triangle-area living.

Repairs Before We Refinish

Refinishing starts with a sound floor. Before sanding begins, we inspect your floors for loose boards, gaps, water damage, or squeaks and take care of needed repairs, so your refinished floors don't just look great — they feel solid underfoot for years to come.
